Gonna love you through it

Don and I went to dinner tonight with our friends,Tom and Brenda Burdge.Tom is 57 years old and dying. He has cancer....EVERYWHERE. He chose quality over quanity for his life and opted not to have any treatments. He inspires me. He will tell you that the last several months have been the best in his life.He is not afraid to die.It is what it is. As I look at him, I can see where the cancer is slowing taking his life. He is confused a little....slurs speech a little, is incorrect in his memory and he has a tumor growing out from his head that bothers him quite a bit. He has a hard time breathing and his blood pressure is out of whack. It is very sad.Tom is a Christian. He will be in heaven and that gives him peace....it gives me peace.I am so fearful of dying but looking at Tom and seeing how he is helps me. Brenda is his wife and she has more strength than the average wife. She is AMAZING. She and Tom have been together since school and she is loving him through it. God Bless You Tom and Brenda. ICUNHVN......this is what their license plates reads. Stands for....I will see you in Heaven.Brenda has had this license plate for over 10 years.She got it when their daughter died.Talk about strength.....right. Brenda not only lost her daughter but she will loose her husband.Wow....right.She takes comfort in knowing that Tom will be in heaven with their daughter, Jennifer. She will be alone no more....that is her peace....it is mine as well.
